Description
Target Information
Transferrin is a major iron‑binding glycoprotein responsible for transporting ferric iron (Fe³⁺) through the bloodstream to cells via the transferrin receptor (TfR1/CD71). In its holo form, transferrin is fully saturated with iron, enabling efficient delivery to tissues with high iron demand such as erythroid precursors, hepatocytes, and rapidly dividing cells.
